This scholarship is only for graduating high school seniors who finished their high school diplomas by this June. Shut Up and Sweat is an athletic scholarship program sponsored by No Excuses Wear. This is an annual scholarship that provides athletes with a monetary award to help with the costs of college. First prize for this scholarship is $2,000. If you do win, you’ll be published on the No Excuses Wear site as well. Someone must nominate you for this scholarship by sending a one to two page letter explaining why a student is an excellent choice for the scholarship. This must be received by August 1.

To apply, you must have a minimum of 3.0 grade point average for the entire duration of your high school grading period. A copy of your transcripts is necessary to verify this. Students need to also provide their history with sports and school activities throughout high school, including any special awards that were received, like MVP, Class President, Team Captain, League Championship, or other. This information must be verified with a coach or athletic director contact information so that the committee can confirm.

Students must also include any community service that you were involved in while in high school. Additional information will also help applicants gain a better footing with judges, so talk about other awards that you received and other projects that were particularly beneficial to your community or school that you took part in. If you worked or you take care of someone in your home life, this can also be included.
